The photographs in this book are really gorgeous and have a certain indefinable quality of light that makes one think of the West Coast But it is the ingredient lists that give one the certainty that this book was not written nor conceived on the East Coast The Asian inspired Japanese style, really recipes do not hail from New England, where we have far less Japanese influence on our food, to our detriment The Mustard Maple Tempeh marinade is a total win Would be good with anything, but I took t [...]

Vegan Family Meals is beautifully laid out, with lots of pictures, clear instructions and easy to follow recipes I haven t tried them ALL, but the ones I have tried where yummy, included a gravy that would fool the family if it appeared on the Sunday roast. My only real issue with the book is the need for quite a few ingredients not normally found in the average meat eating family pantry and the lack of substitute options Definitely a book to read with google at your fingertips if you re unfamili [...]

A two vegan cookbook post including this book at Layers of Thought.I give this book a 4 stars Great information, gorgeous pictures, and gourmet recipes all explained in this hardbound book.

I really wanted to like this book I ve made three recipes so far and each time I m the only one in the family eating them I can t get the rest on board with vegan meals The flavors and textures just don t work for them unfortunately and it s very labor intensive to make for one person.

You don t have to be vegan to appreciate this vegan meal book This book is for anyone who wants to make healthier or sustainable food choices.Author Ann Gentry is a chef and the founder of Real Food Daily, the most popular vegan restaurant in Los Angeles But most importantly, she s a mom She knows the daily ins and outs of a busy lifestyle and a hungry family, and she s reflected that knowledge in this simple cookbook.Simple doesn t have to mean boring Ann s collection of vegan meal ideas is an [...]

I couldn t wait to get this book, but it is a huge disappointment First, the way the ingredient lists are laid out across the top of the recipe is very hard to read and to visually organize when trying to figure what what ingredients you have or need The ingredients are not at all friendly to a busy family I was hoping for recipes that were food busy families that don t have a ton of time to cook or shops This seems to be written for families that have a stay at home foodie parent who has all da [...]

This book includes vegan meals that are family friendly so that I can continue to be a vegan while my family benefits I especially appreciate her incorporating healthy ingredients into familiar meals with a little extra to make the recipe special I also appreciate the addition of meals that are are non traditional but family friendly They require the purchase of new ingredients which I avoid but she uses those ingredients in many recipes so that I can experiment Note Not necessarily my writing s [...]

I really enjoyed this cookbook and have many recipes tagged to make I think that although there are some complicated ingredients that might not be easily accessible to everyone in some of the over 100 recipes, the recipes overall are far approachable for a family or someone leaning into versus being a hardcore vegan than her previous book The Real Food Daily Cookbook I LOVED the Pinto Bean Enchiladas with Sour Cream Tofu that I made from this book So good My complete review and pictures of and [...]

I like the concept, but as a vegan veteran of over 10 years who is raising my family vegan, some of this food is a bit too exotic for most wee palates We prepare a lot of whole foods, but pretty simply I wasn t really tempted to try any recipes from this book I own the author s other cookbook from Real Food Daily and I think I ve only tried one recipe from it A bit too macrobiotic ish for my tastes One of my standby cookbooks is Feeding the Whole Family by Cynthia Lair It s not entirely vegan, b [...]

Ann has done it again She creates delicious recipes for her restaurant that are easily replicated in the home Thanks We have enjoyed so many of your creations. The book is easy to read and the recipes are easy to follow.

Not simple and not particularly family friendly if your family includes normal kids but still, it is pretty to flip through and there are some good recipes I appreciate her take on healthy vegan ingredients.

A lively and colourful vegan cookbook with 100 recipes Read my full review here livinginthekitchenwithpuppies.
