Didn t really care that much for the story The mystery was not to hard to solve I did like the idea of a character being a pet detective But this character, Delilah Doolittle, wasn t a real great character At one point in the story, she does something so stupid, that had me rolling my eyes at the book Don t think, I m going to go through the trouble trying to find the next book in the series.

This book was a good read and had plenty of twists although if you are an avid mystery reader than you may not like it since it is kind of simple enough The cast of characters are interesting for they are British Welsh people set down in sunny California and of an older age than your normal hero heroine for mystery novels The one issue that I had was related to the fact of the characters Although the British usage was an interesting addition and gave the book a rather new flavor some of the word [...]

Delilah Doolittle is a British lady living in Southern California, and trying to make a living as a pet detective As she is working on finding an award winning German Shepard, she stumbles across a sinister conspiracy involving blackmail, shock collars, and even murder As any cozy fan might predict, local law enforcement fails to take her seriously so she is forced to investigate the cases of missing dogs and murders on her own With the help of a quirky best friend, a fellow Brit with a sketchy [...]

I enjoyed this cozy A bit dated in some respects, but the mystery was good and I didn t guess the whole outcome right away as I do with some others I was a little annoyed with Delilah at times Didn t guess that maybe the dog that Debbie said that she was taking care of could have been Herbie Really , overall she was a likable character Evie could use a good swift kick in the keister, though.

The best thing about this book is that the main character speaks with a British accent Although it is a unique take on mystery writing, it is somewhat repetitive with the problems the main character encounters and ends a little predictably.
