Let s just talk about the awesomeness that is the narrator Take a minute to bow down to his super powers He is fan freaking tastic The amount of different voices he can do is phenomenal It felt like I was listening to an audio that had multiple narrators, he is that good Now onto the book I didn t think this would top book 1, but it did This had so much going on that it s impossible not to love I mean, first and foremost we have the stunningly beautiful setting that is Norway It s a beautiful pl [...]

Audiobook Narration Jamie du Pont MacKenzie Really Good Jamie is such a terrific storyteller and just perfect for this series He has lots of character voices, great kid voices, Great Giants, Great Gods, Great Evil Wizard Bird God, just really all around terrific job of narration This series is just Fun and I m loving it and I think I like this one even better than the first, so they are getting better as we go Jake and his cousins, along with Danni are in Norway for the great invention conventio [...]

Great second book in the series it is a great book to listen to I highly recommend the audio book version your favorite characters are back for another story it is very inventive and engaging.

THE GRYPHON CHRONICLES JAKE AND THE GIANT by E G Foley is a delightful Fantasy Fiction Adventure for Young Readers ages, 10 and Up Set again in the Victorian Era 2 in The Gryphon Chronicles but can be read as a stand alone Although, I would recommend reading book 1, The Lost Heir The adventure continues in Jake and The Giant Jake Everton, now Lord Griffon, has finally be re united with his parents, and is coming to grips with his magical powers When Jake s cousin Archie, goes missing, along with [...]

NORWAY Jake and pals accompany Cousin Archie to the Invention Convention in NORWAY and meet Edison, Bell, and many inventors But the best part is all of the legendary Norse that they become involved with Truly, Librarian Eva, Nordic Pride Worldwide, Nordic Brotherhood, Nordic Gods, and Norse Mythology have got to favor this one Ja Whether the reader is 8 or 80, this is a great book to tickle the fancy of we Norsk, followers of Atticus O Sullivan, Harry Dresden, George R R Martin, or those who n [...]

This is book 2 of The Gryphon Chronicles The gang is headed to Norway where Archie is attending the Invention Convention where he will unveil his flying machine and meet his scientific heroes Jake and Archie get than they bargained for when they meet Snorri the Giant He accidentally opened a hole in the sky between humans and giants The boys have adventures with giants and the residents of Valhalla.I enjoyed this book I loved how the Norse gods, Viking legends and myths, as well as Norwegian my [...]

I have to say I was disappointed with this as the second book of the series It so significantly departs from the first book My thinking is that once you build a world for readers, you ought to continue their adventures in said world In book 2, the author takes off on a significant tangent and has us go back in time to Norse mythology, something the first book had nothing to do with At times, the narrative gets VERY far fetched and unbelievable, yet it just keeps going and going I was very tempte [...]

An awesome addition to the series I loved the characters, elements of the story and especially the travels through other lands It takes fairy tales, myths and legends and shakes them all together Our friends and some new companions begin on a new, intriguing journey that will have you both cheering for and against our own species at times I appreciated that the author noted some of our faults as well as those of the non humans As before, the narrator did a wonderful job giving different voices t [...]

The Lost Heir This is a wonderfully fun book as are the rest in the series An orphan who has lived his life on the streets in Victorian England suddenly comes into some strange powers He has a wily and honest girl to keep him straight when things start to go crazy Soon he learns he is the lost heir to a title and a vast fortune that a crazy but very philanthropic uncle will do anything to keep The book is fast paced and includes a cast of lovable and unique characters Every child or adult will f [...]

This fine series keeps up all its momentum in this second volume The boy genius Archie becomes significant as Jake friends accompany him to a conference of geniuses in Oslo It so happens that Loki is causing trouble it is Jake, with Archie s help, who needs to save the day The visions of Yggdrasil, the Norse Cosmic Tree, of the giant s world Valhalla are all richly portrayed Keep on reading.

Way better than the first book in the series, with a multilayered plot although some parts of it were underdeveloped, like the shapeshifter twins sequence and of what made me finish the first volume, namely humor, non stop action and great characters Snorri the Giant and Loki were simply awesome, I hope they ll feature in one of the future books. All in all, a great fantasy for kids I wonder if the authors will ever try writing for grown ups, too

Another fun read about Jake and his life Interesting characters added and I like how real and imaginary people and animals are included in the story Look forward to reading book 3 My grandson started reading these and that is how I got into them.Another fun read about Jake and his friends Interesting characters added and I like how real and imaginary people and animals are included in the story Look forward to reading book 3

This installment of the Gryphon Chronicles included an entertaining interpretation of Viking culture and Norse mythology Norse gods Odin, Thor and Loki all made appearances, although Loki was the most prominent, with his La Vida Loki lifestyle Of course, I did learn that Thor especially did not appreciate being called Meathead by Loki, even if such insults are all in the family. At any rate, the novel has lots of action and twisted humor and was a fun read.

Jake The Giant was a great fantasy story my son and I both enjoyed The first book was good, introducing the characters and setting, but I enjoyed this second book even It dove right into the action with lots of twists and intrigues The addition of the Norse gods was particularly fun for us both, expanding on what was already a mythical, magical world This second book in The Gryphon Chronicles is a wonderful read I highly recommend for YA story lovers.

Once again, Jamie du Pont MacKenzie is the perfect voice for narrating this story I didn t find it as amusing as the first book, but so much fun nonetheless A run in with Loki, giants, vikings, Valkyries, Odin and Thor makes this one wild ride With this story, there s less time given to Danni and the twins, although with the twins what is given YOWZA A wild crazy adventure Next

Cute continuation of Jake s immersion into the magical, steampunk realm This one put me in mind of an Iron Druid for young ones, rich in Norse mythology Loki the trickster lures Jake and Archie into an adventure across the England countryside, up into and into Asgard to help their new found giant friend win the women he loves Cute adventure

Not as great as the first book, but after a while, it picked up speed and interest The book didn t feel completely true with the Victorian time frame it was placed in, but the Viking history and action added a nice bit of action and magical history.

Another great book in this series Jake is learning how to have a family, how to be royalty, and of course how to not get in trouble This time he is fighting Norse giants and gods to ensure Loki doesn t destroy the world A fun read, especially out loud to the kids.

This is the second in the series and while entertaining, it was lighthearted and comical than the first one A good underdog story It was fun throwing in giants and gods into the mix

The 2nd book in the Gryphon Chronicles series For my review of the series from book 1 4 including book 3.5 go to book one.In summary, great series for young and old.
