Wow I could relate to so many things in this story It is a short story, but told really, really well It had the perfect amount of angst and kept me guessing and fretting until the very end I did not expect the end, but it made me smile Story telling at its best

Death Wish I read this in half an hour last night after I went to bed I felt sad for this man who felt that his life was so pointless, that he had cheated his wife and himself and that he was truly less of a man, a coward for not having had the guts to take control of things before I hoped he would find another way to deal with his issues, but he didn t McGough leads the reader to the very edge, and even when he has gone beyond the point of no return, you have no idea how things will end A great [...]

This is a simple but engrossing short story that effortlessly drew me into it For the hour or less that it took me to read it, I was gaping over the main character s shoulder, wide eyed The author skilfully uses the character s internal monologue to reveal his life and the decision he is grappling with The character s emotional struggle as he examines his life and tries to reach a decision kept me turning the pages and the tension gripped me right to the neat twist at the end This deftly told ta [...]

I ve quickly become a huge fan of short stories lately since I haven t had the time to sit down and read a longer length novel That being said, I ve read quite a few in the past couple of months, and Death Wish was definitely one of my favorites It s often hard to find a short story done right but this had a great storyline and a surprisingly well developed main character It even motivated me to get out there with my life, instead of sitting around and letting it pass me by.

I love love love this short story I was able to read this thanks to Kindle Unlimited and oh my gosh am I happy that I decided to give it a go The story takes off running from the very first sentence and kept me breathless throughout If you have the time and the funds I suggest picking up this story, you will not be disappointed Random side note Is that dude on the cover a hottie or is it just me

You can read this book in one sitting, it s a nice short read and, I might add, a great one too.I loved it and as I read, I was asking Why did this man want to kill himself How was he going to do it And when I found out I was horrified, that sort of thing is my worst nightmare.Well worth downloading and seeing for yourself.

One star The title Death Wish is very misleading, having absolutely nothing to do with the story. This was not the kind of surprise ending that I like I can think of a much better title how about The End

With six pages, can it even be called a book A little like a 50 word story found in a magazine where you think a character will do something and turns out to do something completely different.
