Pretty Girls Don t Eat by Winnie SalamonPublisher Ford Street Publishing Reviewed by Abigail CiniWinter Mae Jones knows what she wants to do with her life she wants to work in fashion design and see her own designs on sale She is warm, kind and has a talent for sewing, and her friends think so too Her family is supportive but, at times, Winter feels scrutinised by her image obsessed mother. After Winter meets Oliver, the first boy she has met who shares her enjoyment for 80s music and classic mov [...]

An enjoyable young adult novel set in Melbourne, Australia Winter is an intelligent, clever 16 year old girl Very capable with a sewing machine and great design ideas has two fabulous friends she confides in However, Winter never feels good enough, slim enough in her mother s eyes. When she meets Oliver at a party and when she starts working part time for a popular designer, Winter decides the only other thing needed to make her life perfect is to lose weight.

SUCH AN AWESOME BOOK I love how touching this story was Not only was it very enjoyable to read, it also shined some light on very important topics such as eating disorder and body image I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who wants to be inspired to make a change to their lifestyle, or to anyone who has enjoyed watching the movie To The Bone.

Couldn t put down Absolutely amazing book with a very interesting plot.Recommended for teens, although some parts are for grown ups.

This book is gripping right from the get go It s interesting to read, and written in a way that is engaging for anyone Winter is a fun and dynamic character, and her experience with body image issues is so real and raw Absolutely love this book and would definitely recommend to anyone

The author has done such a fantastic job with this book Winnie has managed to keep a fun, easy to read mood whilst never detracting away from the serious issue that arise within this story This book explores issues such as friendship, body image and eating disorders These issues may put some people off However the author has approached these subjects with tact and consideration Winter is a brilliant MC, the author has created a fun, dynamic character who is relatable Along with her friends and a [...]

Winnie Salamon sent me a copy of her book in exchange for an honest review. This book is so good I read it for about 3 and a half hours and I loved it The story is good and all, but it made me sad Why It s because Winter hated herself for being fat Some people judge her for being fat Only some people especially Oliver and her friends can see how beautiful she was even with her size Her mother I cried when I read about Winter s confession to her mother Overall the book is good Highly recommend thi [...]
