    This might be a little biased for a few reasons.I m a half filipino kid who basically knows nothing about Filipino culture inside and outside of America So, anything remotely approaching the Filipino American experience kinda fascinates me Also, I bought this directly from Rina at the 2011 SF Zine Fest where she inscribed a cute little cartoon self on the first page Something sweet, especially after I mentioned how much I dislike inscriptions when she offered to do one making it awkward for no r [...]

    I liked this book a lot Ayuyang is really funny and there are a lot of cultural references in her drawings It s also pretty interesting to see how her style changes as time passes.

    I purchased a few comics from Sparkplug Comics when I heard that their publisher Dylan Williams was sick and without health insurance Sadly Williams has since died and his family is left with large medical expenses You might want to buy some books from Sparkplug, as they publish a lot of good stuff.Out of the many excellent Sparkplug books I bought, Whirlwind Wonderland is my favorite It is a collection of short, often autobiographical stories, including an excellent defense of Murder She Wrote.
